The length of the shifter never bothered me. Looking at the pics, the shorter handle is growing on me.
Yes, I'd like the +/- switched around. Pull for upshift, push for downshift like how a proper sequential box shifter operates.

Wouldn't it be even better if the lever is closer to you in Tiptronic mode? Like BMW, for example.

Unfortunately I don't think that switching up/down would be so easy. Electronically everything is on a circuit board. Any intervention there would be quite complicated. It would be very easy if we can get access to the software. But...

...or, paddles. Never touch shifter in W12 or Q5 driving w/ them.

Paddles are $$$ that I can spend on better things. Just wondering if it was easy to mod by swapping some switch connectors around or something. But if it's all electronics then no dice. I guess I should have known that Audi would have engineered it in a needlessly complex fashion.

Some pics of that assembly if you have them would be useful though as there may be a workaround.

Yes, if one have them. I am rarely using it all together. Few downshifts on highway ramps and smoothing it on a really winding roads. Other than that computer is doing it just fine.

I would prefer just a pushbutton for engaging manual mode. I guess that would imply loosing Tiptronic name.

If they're around $100 bucks then that's a lot less than I thought. Was imagining around $500. I would love to be a fly on the wall in the meetings where they agree to sign off on such complex systems and what the justifications are. Since when does a gear selector need it's own computer?!?!?!? Madness.

That part is not bad at all if you have lathe. Installing it is a bit more difficult. Especially without instructions. But I didn't brake anything.
