Hold on though, there is always the one below, if you believe in concept type renderings. Hmmm, back to holding out for D5's? Or, at least let their imminent arrival in 18 months to take a yet bigger bite out of used D4 prices. 3 year old W12's and still under original warranty can already be found listed down to 40-45% of new.
Picture is from this article in the last month or so in a leading German car magazine: Neuer Audi A8 D5 (2016/2017): Audis neue Oberklasse - autobild.de

I still get compliments all the time. Just this past weekend, I was at a softball tournament and a guy and his wife were walking in and he told her that my D3 was his dream car. The D3 has that "it" factor that makes it a classic, just my humble opinion.

I always get stares. At the carwash where they clean it for you, the workers swarmed around the car to check it out and the manager apologised saying they loved the car. At gas stations people ask if it's the car with the Lambo engine and ask to see it LOL.

I elected to use all Audi parts, and I really like the combo. Most people would not know the change except for D3 aficionados.

I think this full front end is LLtek. The grille pictures are from Xenonz.co.uk. I have asked them several times if they plan to to a D3 grille and I guess the answer is no. Maybe if enough people are asking for one......

I get a lot more respect on the road since I changed from an A4 to the A8L. People give me the right-of-way whether it is mine or not. People notice the car and pay attention to it. I think the detailing my son did on it helped a lot too.

I won't be asking for one. Personally I think it is hideous.

I was leaning towards the grille on the bottom left from xenonz, Chrome surrounds, black mesh, with chrome rings and an S8 badge. Maybe even a quattro script on the bottom like some of their other products and no plate holder. Nothing terribly gaudy, but better than the LLTEK grille alone. They got back to me and said £40,000 to R&D a mold for it. What? Seriously?
