Unplugging the TPMS Module
The reason why I unplug the TPMS module, is different Gateway SW levels act differently to coding the 17 and 19 modules. So some earlier 2004 and 2005 D3s may work with just recoding, but I have had a few 2005 and 2006 vehicles that needed the TPMS module disconnected after I performed recoding.
This is a must for the VW Touareg too!
So try the recoding of 19 and 17 first and see what happens.

This is correct. Some users have reported just pulling the fuse works (2004?). On my 2005 I had to remove from gateway and disable TPMS with long coding otherwise errors would show up. On others you may need to do more. Just work through it, try (1)disconnect fuse (2)remove from gateway (3)Re-code (4)disconnect.

I believe that the option to disable TPMS depends on the model year rather than MMI version. I don't believe TPMS was a legal requirement in 2004, so it can be turned off. It became a legal standard in later years, therefore can't be turned off via the MMI.

look at the code sequence. There are steps and in those steps there are question marks. For you case the third character change it to a zero and it should be disabled. So if you put your code just like it says in the screenshot it should be disabled and working good for you.
