rpm jumping around today after disconnecting battery last night.
car drives ok, but not perfect.
example--was going 100km hr and rpm dropped from 3k to 2k and kept driving.
seems just rpm is jerking around.

i suspect a throttle body alignment after loss of power
cus day before all was fine

If you can't find it, I'm not sure you should be fiddling around the engine bay. If you insist, however, it is on the back of the engine. Follow the air intake right to it.

If its a 4.2 its at the back of the engine, follow the large line from the air filter box.

I am aware of the Ross Tech advice.
I did have the battery disconnected. It is about 18 months old only.

It's the loss of rpm and needle moving with kind of vibration.
one post thought torque was an issue.....

It was getting late for me yesterday and I never thought to look at your vcds scan.

The engine code i was asking about is BFM

I think you need to have a good read through these and get an understanding of the various systems to then go fault find properly.

It really sounds like a module lost it's memory and now needs to re-learn it's settings.

It could also be that a module just didn't initialize correctly. I would disconnect the battery, touch the battery cables together to remove any residual charge, wait 5 minutes, then reconnect the battery.

suggests a similar procedure for the transmission through Basic Settings
but I was unable to access basic settings (it was greyed out)I tried with power but no engine
then tried with engine running.

I will be checking the ATF level later today
but I am curious about the coincidence of me disconnecting the battery the other day
then the start of this variant rpm poor driving.

after ATF and some drives, I will move on to my SAI issue and vaccum leaks.
