Default EPB Help

I get the follow DTC's I have removed and cleaned the connections on each side, did a Terminal 30 reset and still get the errors. My question is what next, the module, and if I get a different module can I recode it with my VCDS. Will I get the component protection error if I do it myself. I do not want to get a new one as they are 560.00. I will probably get used. Thanks for your help.

Until you get the open circuit fixed, you won't be able to clear the faults. While it could be the module, I would verify that the parking brake motors are getting the correct voltage.

Default Can you check for voltage with VCDS?

If so what channel/MVB? and if not VCDS, I will go by a voltmeter, but not sure how to test EPB motor? Thanks

I would say very unlikely two motors are bad, so that points to the module or module connector, wiring, power, ground.

I got a module for $80 off ebay. There is no component protect, although I would say they are a bit balky to work with. Take your time, ROSSTECH has some recommendations, like to burn incense and only work during the night.

I got my LEFT motor working, everything was great for 2 months. But my daughter took the A8 on the weekend and the motor belt or drive is done. "clamping force not reached". The motor was in rough shape. I have a good-used on order, coming soon.

Default The latest saga with my EPB

So I took all the fuses into autozone(even though they did not look blown) and had them test them. All tested fine. Cleaned the connections(on the wheel themselves). Ran a test with the VAGCOM, Everything works fine. EPB light did not appear for 1 day. I never applied(used) the EPB. Light came back on. Because I agree with @SharkV8, I do not think both motors would be bad at the same time, I am going to replace the module. Unless someone else has a suggestion. It would not be the switch on the center console, since that seems to be working.

Not trying to steal your post - But I also have a similar issue> Supply Voltage for Left Parking Brake Motor. Disconnected the contacts and cleaned the circuit. I'll need to put more attention into it soon, but the EPB screams at me at start-up, and REALLY hates it when I start driving over 5mph. The EPB isn't engaging, so there's little to no chance of damage.

If you or anyone can help me step through the troubleshooting chain, I'd be very grateful. I'll likely make a new thread about this with VCDS scan results, so we can all be on the same page.

If you (or anyone) have been able to resolve the issue, shoot me a PM and tell me about the specifics, please.

TIA

I had a EPB issue with my A8, I took the caliper off and opened up the electrical part. I cleaned it then sprayed it liberally with wd-40 while cycling it with vag-com. No problems for a few months so far. My 08 S8 has a EPB fault too, I have yet to look into that though.

Default Update on the EPB issue

I am going to order the EPB control module. I need to remove the battery to replace. If I disconnect the battery, am I going to mess anything up. I have the VAGCOM to recode. I can do that, I just don't want to mess anything else up. Thanks
