06 A8 random electric issues
Hello everyone I am new to this forum and new to the audi brand. I just bought a 2006 A8L and noticed that the sunroof does not work,I cannot adjust the interior background lighting when I do it just defaults to the lowest setting. I have no visor lights. I thought all these cars had TPMS but for some reason I can't see my screen in the car/system menu. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the board.
You need VCDS cable and software in order to connect your laptop and read faulty codes. Tire pressure system was turned off because your sensors batteries are dead. You need new sensors and again VCDS to turn the system on. It might be that somebody messed your roof electronics too.

Another question to add to this. I'm seeing posts where people have xenon or bi-xenon headlights in there A6. As far as I can see mine are just standard bulbs with projectors for the low and the high beams are the inner most light. Does this sound right? Also I don't have DRL's and there is no option in my menu to turn them on or off is this normal? Again this may be one of those things where I need the vcds to turn them on.

Do you have A6 or A8? A8's came with a number of different headlights. Take a picture and post it here.
DRL's should be turned on using VCDS. You can also add an option to the External Lights Menu so you can turn them on an off (not legal in Canada).

Well I got the sunroof and the background lighting to work. Turns out someone was up in the overhead panel and played around with a few things. Leads me to believe somethings still messed up or why would they been up there plus the 2 bolts weren't even screwed in. As for the lights I did a little looking and i guess some models come with halogen lights which is beyond me why they would but what can you do.

It is difficult to see what is that one that's on. If you can see the bulb it is halogen. If it is just dimmed lens it is HID. Those closer to the middle of the car are halogen and they can be adjusted to work as high beam or just like flash/passing light.

The inner is a halogen for sure high beam/flash to pass. The projector I believe is a halogen also as I didn't see any ballasts on the back but really didn't look all to hard yet. If it is hid its 4000k it's so yellow
