I'm from Michigan originally, where the potholes appear where there were none the day previous in the winter. If you are there, you will hit some big ones from time to time, especially at night. Car and Driver went through several tires with their A8 long term test vehicle from pothole damage.

I love those wheels, one of my favorites on an A8, period. What offset are those 10.5 wheels?

ET40 with 5mm spacers that makes them et35, sits perfect.

run with 275/30-20 on 10,5x20 ET25 on winter tires

we do have potholes in norway aswell, but all the roads are twisty and bendy, so you have to pay attention all the time. so you will see the pot holes in time since top speedlimit is 80kmh. but if and when you hit a pothole that ruins your rim and tire, you can apply to be reimburst by the government since they are the one that are responsable for the road. havent done this my self, but know several people that has with luck.

Where the potholes get you over here is when you get a big thaw, and the holes created over the winter previously filled with snow become part of a puddle. Most puddles don't have a pothole, and you can't avoid them all, so sometimes you catch a good one. If you do, it's out of your pocket, government provides no reimbursement, and insurance company treats it the same as if you hit a curb.

Imagine a city taking responsibility for its roads... I'll never see the day.

I was actually really close to buying a set of MTM rims from a guy that worked at Audi but also worried of the pot holes in NYC ruining them. Now i regret not getting them their super rare. He was letting them go for 1300.
