Getting back to the suspension
Has anyone ever documented how often the compressor should run a normally operating system? I hear it running when starting out a lot of times. I Logged some numbers for awhile on my trip up North yesterday, for the holidays. Over a 72 minute period the compressor cycled only once for 10 seconds. The accumulator valve would open briefly every 6 or 7 minutes as the pressure would bleed down. The shock valves opened only 2 times. (front and rears). Maybe during slow downs below 75mph?
During this time the car was traveling on the expressway ~80mph. Trunk fully loaded, 3/4 tank gas, no rear passengers. The compressor was replaced 1.5 years ago. The car has very little sag when sitting for extended periods. Maybe 1/2".

For $20, seems like low cost preventative to avoid a big hassle and cost. More so after I read the TSB about inspecting the relay in connection with pump related issues. It basically says if pump problems arise, inspect relay; if very slightly marked at contacts, replace relay. if anything more than that, replace both relay and pump. Yeah right, how about further revisingTSB to say relay set up is sub par but we slid by because they are too old to recall, it would cost some time to tear up dash and then replace all kinds of big bucks compressors. So, we went Sgt. Schultz on it instead and enjoy the compressor service and parts business.
