Trunk Lift Motor
I just installed a brand new aluminum bodied trunk motor and a Kufatec module. The resigned one is much beefier and the motor is much larger. Should have taken pictures but it was the end of the day and we were all ready to go home so we just knocked it out.
The question I have is when the trunk is opened, it pops and it takes a second for the motor to engage and it lifts up evertime. Is this normal for the slight delay? I must have got a bad Kufatec module because it does not work.

Mine is so weak, I have to give it a boost lift a little before it goes up by itself. I don't really like it. Come one, it's a little trunk lid, who needs the lift that takes forever to go up or down.

There is a bit of delay letting you to open it manually if you don't want to wait. It is good to have it even when it is week just for closing. With hands full of things it is handy.

You might spring for some new gas tubes...
They are kind of pricy via the dealer, even online, but Rock Auto carries what seem to be the OE equivalent (often Sachs), down to the aluminum trim on them. I recently did both my trunk and hood. Made the trunk more lively, especially in colder weather, in both power or by hand mode. Hood definitely pops to attention now, while before was barely making it up recently. Having had a few other cars blow down on my head over the years in stiff wind and having run forehead into sagging minivan hatches more than a few times, an item I'll change out mid car life if I am holding the vehicle long term and it has lost its oomph.
