Default Hood cable came off at the latch passanger side!!! What to do now?

Was working on my car the other day, and my hood stopped working. I thought it was a broken cable so I took the wheal liner of and I pooled the passenger cable out. I have no idea what to do. Thanks for any advice.

Got it, with a long Harbor Freight screw driver. No cutting or damage to the car.

Would you mind sharing your method so others may have a shot at this without sawing or damaging the vehicle? where did you put the screwdriver? How did you release the latch?
