Let me Google that for you.

It's not a terribly unusual problem. Unfortunately, it is likely going to be quite a pain to get the hood open. Read some of those threads that show up in that Google search, and you will see what several others ended up having to go through to get it open again. Any answers you need will be there. Sorry for your troubles, and good luck.

Only when all else fail and asked to pay $2k+ for destroying the hood and repaint. How come people keep snapping the cable? A simple firm pull slowly until the latches are released. Audi didn't expect people yanking the cable so hard, its dinky cable (or wire?) doesn't hold.
Cheers,
Louis

A joke... though some have actually had to go there.

More seriously, post is another reminder to lubricate the latches, and any time the driver's side fender liner is taken out for other reasons to lubricate the junction box area. Yanking may not be the problem--binding parts w/out some periodic lubication sseem to be more the root of it. People report much smoother once they get some penetrating lube into the works, even just really basic like the latches.

For O.P., find the posts about the junction box hidden above the fender liner. That is your access point most likely if snap is in first part of cable. If underhood, that maybe the demo saw scenario; has had to be done and does not destroy hood if done in right place. Will scratch things up. Hopefully doesn't come to that...

OP,

Why not read the sticky at the top of the thread that goes like this:
" Sticky: New Posters to this Forum; PLEASE READ THIS "
????

It was put there to help you help yourself fast. Including how to search either with the forum tools or Google. I myself posted my method of geting the hood open when the cable snapped. Hope one of the posted methods helps you.
