Steering Wheel Illumination

I've owned my car for 6 years and for the life of me can't remember if the buttons on the steering wheel (Mode, Arrow) illuminate. Mine do not light up and wondering if there's a malfunction somewhere...

there is a malfunction, they should be lit. Post a scan if you have VCDS, something may show up there. Fuse checking may be another area to check.
