Default Thought I Would Share. HID Bulb

Just bought these Phillips genuine OEM replacement low beam HID bulbs made in germany. D2S 4300k. My passenger side bulb went out. At the dealer, these bulbs go for $200 each!!!! This seller on ebay sells 2 brand new bulbs for $50! Fast shipping. A buddy and i put the bulbs in and they work perfectly.

Could be counterfeits. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

I agree, there is now way for me to know if they are genuine. I'm sure there are expert that can but usually if it sounds too good to be true, it isn't.

Almost all of them on ebay are exact replicas or very close to OEM. I'd be very surprised if they are OEM. Not to say there is a large difference in quality either way, OEM prices are insane. But what a pain in the butt it is to replace I might just go OEM for $200 a pair and save the headache of replacing them early. Just had to replace a city bulb on my A8, damn near took me 20 minutes, luckily I have small arms to wind and bend to reach the driver's side bulb.

I always bought HIDs off Amazon for my D3. They are genuine Phillips and worked great for about $75-80. Dealer was happy to install them for me for the same price as if I bought them from them. I was warned about EBay HIDs being Chinese counterfeits of the the real thing, so I never bought there.

I spent 20 minutes replacing turn signal bulbs on my wife's Sequoia. 15 on the first and 5 on the second.
Will these 50/pair bulbs work in my 2005 D3?

CALL Philips' 800 number and discuss your concerns. They COULD be real - the markup on many things is enormous! Perhaps they can tell you how to spot a fake. And if this fLEabay seller er is selling chinee knockoffs I'm sure Philips has a lawyer or ten who aren't busy at the moment! =)
