Labor to replace air conditioning compressor (05 4.2)
Hello guys, in the recent past months, I have been having intermittent issues with the a/c operation in my 2005 4.2. I have come to the conclusion that the n280 valve/sensor which acts as the regulator for the air conditioning compressor is faulty, causing the a/c to turn off randomly or not become cold enough when needed. But in traditional Audi fashion, the n280 valve does not come seperate from the compressor. And it is not sold seperately either. Luckily, I have found a brand new OEM Denso compressor on EBay going for around $350.00. The part numbers are the same as the OEM one, which costs around $800 or so bucks. Would anyone know the labor hours to replace the compressor? Again, this is for a 2005 4.2. Thanks

There are quite a few threads on here on how to do it and how long it takes depending on what you have to take off. And if you have the correct tools. I had to take the front bumper off on mine amd had problem with the bolt nearest the front headlight. Many have had it easy and could get to it underneath but mine is a 4.2 diesel and is different. As I have done it before it would probably take me 2hrs now to it. It's not that hard
