At this point I wont be replicating the LLtek grill, their frustrated with me enough as it is I dont need to fan the flames. I would point everyone to Hofele in hopes of getting a quality product.

Overall I'm pleased, although I'm thinking of making another...but I guess I should mount this one first.

Man, I love the S8 grille. I also like the 2008,09 W12 grille even more. But you just ruined it. I think that looks awful might as well remove the S8 badge and put a 300C in it's place...

Coming off a bit harsh but I just love the stock S8 look...

It is different and unique. You may try to make one with mesh flash (or close) with the chrome frame. That mash can be easily formed. Black rings. May be dark red for S.

For the record this was an A8 grill that was sacrificed for this project and I don't believe a grill or look of one defines a car, not to mention that the D3 looks nothing like a 300c. This version much like the Hoeffle (sp) or the LLtek is not for everyone. Thanks for your input though.

Mishar- Thanks for the insight, the flattest mesh I could find in the largest sizes is what I used. If you can point me in the direction of the different mesh I'd be willing to make another version, provided I find a donor frame.

I actually like the chrome rings on it vs. black ones...but who knows. My intent was to show other owners that there are alternatives to the aftermarket versions if they get a little creative.

And I like that.

Not sure if I was clear. I would bring mash surface close (1/2") to the front frame surface. I don't know what is that mash but very similar aluminum mesh can be find in The Home Depot. They come in quite large size. Have to paint them. Again, dark red. Who knows.

Great idea- that was actually the intent originally, I was unable to form the mesh myself despite my best efforts and even building a wooden jig to assist. I think the next version will be as such. Dark red mesh?...eh...LOL *shrug* whatever works for you.

That's not like you Rob, you're usually a paragon of tact...

Customizing these high end Audi's takes a lot of patience and kahonas, hats off to you Cobra for looking at alternatives. I am wishing that I would have originally went this direction rather than with the LLtek product line,

Thanks! The biggest challenge that we face is you want to ensure you don't bastardize an otherwise fantastic vehicle or cheapen it while being able to customize it as you see fit. I was very close to pulling the trigger on the LLtek stuff too.

More coming I'm hoping to have it fitted this week sometime.
