There is a user on the board Jehu8 who is selling his non-LED taillights. I want them but am not ready to spring for the dollars quite yet so send him a PM and talk to him about it. I think he wants $400 for the set.

Unfortunately my Car requires them to be LED. Thanks for the Info though.

Those can be fixed with a little effort assuming that the water damage isn't too severe. Removing them from the car is hardest part.

Audi really screwed up when they had those lights made. The weld between the body of the light and the lens is minimalist at best. I am surprised that the red lenses haven't fallen off.

I am confused as to the "non-LED" statement as I have seen others whom have made the same statement before, on the A8 all four taillights both inner and outer are LED, as they have been on the years 2004, 2005, and 2006 that I have owned, along with the 05 W12 that I still have, with the outer being all LED, and the inner being LED plus 2 incandescent bulbs, 1 for reverse, and 1 for the rear fog light.

I ask this because recently I was inquiring to purchase and the seller stated that his were not LED, yet the picture he listed was exactly the same looking as all the 2004-07's that I have seen.

I always assumed that it was a misconception stemming from trying to differentiate between the 2004-2007 and 2008-2010 taillights. The later ones are much more clearly LED, where the older ones could be mistaken for traditional bulbs until you look closer.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. The taillights were full LED for the facelift 2008+ models. The OP has the "non LED" taillights [I know there is a strip on the outside that is LED, but the rest of them are regular bulbs as far as I know]

The earlier D3 models used LED running lights and brake lights. As Johnny mentions, only the rear fog light and reverse light is incandescent. The design doesn't make this immediately apparent, but if you take them off, it's clear. All 2004-2007 models are this way, whatever people choose to call their tail lights.

Very interesting design indeed if the original tails are LED. They sure as hell look like incandescent lights to me on my 2007.

I agree, it's weird, but I think they used LED's for engineering reasons as opposed to aesthetic reasons. As a result, they didn't take advantage of them from a lighting design standpoint. They sure do now, though. The front and rear lights on my D4 are a work of art, as far as I'm concerned.
