MMI dead on Audi A8 2005
Hello everyone,
Am in a bit of bother, my own doing i am afraid.
I bought the original update disk 5570 and tried updating it. On the forst disk i got this error MMo Hi/MMi/Epatch.bin eroor 176 from device. Clever sod that i am, went to the bootloader and installed to version 5150, my original version being 0900. the disk updated successfully to 5150 and being so happy tried updated to 5570 thru the bootloader again, it installed the disk and rebooted itself, but then came the calamity. The whole MMi system went blank with the pop up screen up and all the buttons dead and nothing responded after that. I have diagnosed the whole car but it wont connect to the control unit, telephone, navigation and the cd or radio. Would appreciate any help in finding out whether the control unit is fried or is there any way i can bring it back to lifebefore a dreaded visit to AUDI.
Any help would be greatly appreciated and couple of beers to boot.

This is the diagnostic i got from the car after the freeze up. i did the optical bus diagnosis but forgot to save it. will do it first thing in the morning and post it

Before you do that Optical, please clear all DTC's and then run a new AutoScan to post.
Also you very likely need a new battery.

Just an update,
Took the car to the garage and had it diagnosed and found the control unit to be dead. mine was 4E0 035729 with software 4E0910730E and was told the an exact part number control module would work fine, searched around and found a used module for a Q7 2006 the same part number but a different software number 4L0910731K. had it fitted everything came up fine and working, but my screen wont retract simply because the module is from a Q7 and they do not have retractable screen whereas mine does...lol
I guess i am stuck with it for now, but am looking to buy or exchange my module for an exact match.

I have a q7. My mmi is completely unresponsive and I'm trying to isolate what could be at fault. Not sure if I'll be able to before the New Years or not. Which part did you replace to get it working and where was it located? I'm going to start at the amp this weekend to see if that's what killed the system. Did you do the bus scan?
