Hello, everyone!
It was a while when I was on that forum.

Anyway, yesterday my MMI screen is started to create nasty cranking sounds on the way up and on the way down. It is still working (I’m surprised), but each time with that noise.

Question. Where I can buy a set of spare gears? I know a while ago when I was active person on that forum Mishar – is the person to contact. And he used to have the “custom” made gear (just one gear). I wonder if that’s the only option so far. Also, I wonder if aluminium gear is as good as plastic one. I hope we already have some stats

Yep, sounds like the screen drive death dance. Been there, heard that. Misha had them and is where I got mine; via his EBay ad at the time. He can respond, but recently was saying he was still out. High quality, and I prefer supporting the guy others just seem to often use to snag his instructions. On EBay type in "Audi A8 MMI gears" and you should get about 10 hits from various locales.

Got mine here and they work well. Comes with instructions as well and the seller is very helpful. Hope I'm not stepping Mishar's toes, I just could not find his while I was in the market to purchase. Good luck

I used Mishar's gears in my car all the way in Australia and they, along with the instructions were beyond reproach!
