It's sad to say, I've turned into that guy. Working for a large landscape company, and spending the last year fertilizing, having sprinklers installed, watering, having sod put in due to failed septic. I take care of it and it gets to me when people walk across it. Even worse when people park their car a good two or three tire widths onto the grass in the street!!

Should have seen this guy... I'm totally cool with tats (heck my girlfriend has several), but when it crosses into the hoodlum territory (both in appearance and attitude/ lifestyle), then that's something different....

Still, I don't know how he managed to destroy a near perfect car in his first week of owning it.

I agree.

Given your description of what he's done to the car? I would not respond to any further communications. Giving him any response will give him information and insight into your character, hence more angles of manipulation for him to approach.

I'm not saying you're easily manipulated or anything like that, but I've dealt with this type of behavior before and cutting off communication is the best approach.
