Default New to Audi, and would appreciate your opinion

Hello,

Long time lurker first time poster. Been really thinking about making a change to Audi (BMW owner), and the A8 is my favorite for sure. The car I am looking at is 2005, fully loaded with 128k miles on it. Seems to be very well maintained. I am handy and try to do my own work where I can...In your mind, what's a good price for this car? Owner is asking for 10K.

Thanks in advance

Recent maintenance over the past couple years includes:

Oil and Filter Change (122,000 Miles)
-Replace driver side exhaust flex pipe

Oil and Filter Change (117,000 Miles)

Audi's Scheduled "B" Plus 110,000 Mile Service
-Oil and filter change -Air and cabin filters
-Platinum spark plugs
-Rear brake pads and rotors

Arnott Air Suspension Service (93,400 Miles)
-Replace front passenger air shock (slow leak)
-Replace front driver air shock (preventative maintenance)

Audi Dealer Service (91,900 Miles)
-Replaced cooling fan relay and fan
-Replace accessory belt damper

Audi Dealer Service (86,000 Miles)
-Repair passenger exhaust flex pipe
-Replace brake light switch

Audi Dealer Service (82,500 Miles)
-Replace timing belt , thermostat and water pump
-Front wheel bearings
-Replace power trunk hinges
-Replace low beam light blub

The major service items appear to have been covered. The timing belt and suspension updates are huge. Wheel bearings as well.. looks like the owner was paying attention to it in a good way.

One thing that is not showing is the replacement of the front suspension arms. These rarely last 100k miles (in terms of bushing wear). It is not a must-do, however, the long term tire life and crispness of the steering may be a little vague. Any clunking over bumps will be an indicator if the bushings are seriously worn.

In buying any high-end car, however, there could be many gremlins. It would be good to do a VCDS scan of all of the modules in the car. Does the car set emissions "readiness". Anything else out of the ordinary showing up?

There are many enthusiasts throughout the country who have VCDS on their laptops. Someone should be able to assist you.

Welcome to the board! Check the sticky if you haven't already.

This looks like good bargain. Everything major was already done. Small things for a handy man with some help from here are a piece of cake. Online parts acceptable. You will really enjoy top of the line luxury car for 10% of it's original price. Can't ask for more.
