While nowhere near the highest A8 total mileage; My lowly '04 with a 4.2L V8 (only 330 HP) now has just over 231,000 miles on the clock.
To answer the speed record question, here is a screen shot. Also click on my screen name and look at my Bonneville photos where it took place. One photo there shows it maybe 1 mph faster another 4/10's of a mile up the playa.

I went to: www.unitronic-chipped.com and to their closest dealer and had it done in under an hour.
