Default Not starting on first try

Hello, this is my first time on here. I have 2004 audi a8L and I'm having trouble with it not starting on the first try in the mornings or when it cools down after a drive. I'm thinking it's one of the fuel pumost, because I replaced the starter, I replaced the crank sensor too, and battery's brand new from the dealer... any help?

First suggestion you are going to get is do a VCDS scan. Often, faults can be diagnosed quickly with a proper scan. Without, you might get half a dozen valid suggestions. I hope you didn't replace all those things just to fix this one problem, throwing parts at it is an expensive tactic.

Hello and thanks for responding. The reason I replaced all those things in the first place was because I had the engine out of the car and was repairing a coolant leak, so I just replaced it because it was a lot eaiser with the engine out kf the car and it was old, my cars has a lot of miles on it (107,000) on the odometer but I think the miles were rolled back before so it's more like 200,000. I scanned the car today with a snap-on scanner, and I didn't have any codes that would lead to it not starting the first time everytime....

Snap on code scanner will miss a lot. You will want a Rosstech cable to use the VCDS software, it'll pay for itself the first time it saves you from replacing the wrong part. It will also tell you what the actual mileage on your car is.

Please read the sticky at the top of the D3 thread. It was well thought out and put there to help first time posters like you.

If you read, understand and follow it, you would not have had to post anything here so far and would have helped yourself.

Good luck with it.

Thanks for the reply. It was there before coolant leak. The leak was coming from the alternator/ oil filter housing bracket that bolts to the passenger front side of the engine.
