Default Rear axle, lower arm bushings.

Hello,
Has anyone had experiences with lower arm bushings replacement? The dealer says it is possible only with replacing the whole arm, but i think there might be an alternative. Vw Phaeton has the same axle and there are bushings with part nr. 3D0505171. Is it compatible with audi axle? I am talking about part nr 16.

Thank you for your help.

There are two rules when it comes to suspension parts.

1 - Just because the bushing are shown as a separate item doesn't mean that you can order them. No part number? Can't be ordered.

2 - Just because you can order them does not mean that they will fit. On many occasions I have had to turn down a new bushing in the metal lathe. You can't press in a bushing that is .050 larger than the bore. It just isn't possible.

That means that you cannot order them. Stop by a dealer and ask. See rule #1.

1- Some audi diagrams show bushings separate, but there isn't part nr. Vw Phaeton have the same axle and there are bushings separate with nr.

2 - This is why i am asking for help. Mayby someone have experience with this situation. If i have to buy whole arm i will do that, because i have no options. But it is worth to do research.

The bottom line is it is a crap shoot if you find the bushing numbers.

My son recently bought some bushings from Audi for his rear diff on his S8. They had to be turned on the lathe to get them to fit.
