Default Rear Vanity Mirrors Stuck

Both of my rear vanity mirrors are having issues. When placed in the closed position, the lights vanity lights remain on. I can see thre is a small "tab" that tends to wear out with use preventing a solid contact with the "off" switch. I've tried some home remedies such as folding small pieces of tape to allow for better contact with the off switch but would like to know if anyone has better solutions.

Thanks,
Sully J

I've replaced my latch and it's a simple job. Work slowly with a small flat screwdriver and you can pry out the mirror then open the mirror frame to access the latch. Here is a link to the latch:

You're welcome! Tread lightly on the mirror frame. The rest is pretty durable but the actual frame around the mirror is quite thin and flimsy.

Jamarx,

Did you order your latches directly from Sugatsune?

Thanks,
Sully

Thank you for posting this, my two rear vanity mirrors no longer stay latched. I have had to keep a wetnap in each one to keep them closed so the lights do not shine and bother me at night.

Hi Jarmarx,

Well I received my latches today. they did not come with "strike" plates so I'm assuming all that I need are the actuak latches. Willlet you know how things worked out. Thanks!

That's right - it's all you need... You slip the latches in and they grasp the "pin" that is molded into the frame.
