If I remember correctly you just pry it out with a little flat screwdriver from the windscreen side then unplug it.

Definitely. Remember if you take it in, they have to empty the system and add the appropriate amount.

Overdue follow-up. Took the advise of others to have system vacuumed and recharged at my independent shop and now A/C works like a champ! Thanks for the input. This is good as we're going to hit 100 in SoCal this week and geeze, its nearly Halloween...
