JJJ,
now, i am interested in a procedure on how to remove the center console and the reason is because the little spring for the door to get in the compartment for coffee cups broke
and i read that i will need to open the whole thing up in order to replace that spring for the door.
the door still goes up and down but i have to manually apply pressure in order to open, so it doesn't spring back anymore because of the broken spring.

thank you in advance!

There is a single screw inside the ashtray. Take it out and carefully lift all wood trim with cup holders.

Hi,
my dash lights of my 2008 4.2 TDI are dead too.

How do you get access to the connector that feeds the armrest lighting.

Best regards,

Default See pictures.

See pictures, remove rear air vents, remove console trim, and you will find the lead from armrest to plug IIRC.

Not that difficult at all, pull up on the armrest aluminum cover, you can unbolt the arm rest from there, and you will find the wiring, disconnect the coupler that feeds the arm rest.

Edited: Possibly have to take out the center console wood surround too, can't remember exactly, still a fast and easy solution
