Default Soft-touch close dying

Hi all. Have a 2006 A8L and I love it, except for the little things that are now starting to break.

THe soft-touch / soft-close for the drivers side doors (front and rear) have both stopped working. Anyone know how difficult it is to fix this and how much it generally costs?

Not cheap, not insane. If I wanted to try it myself, how doable is this repair without a garage?

Everything comes off from the inside out. The garage allows 3.5hrs per door. When you buy new door handles, leave enough time to have them painted as they come primed in one colour.

Hi, My service advisor quoted me $594 back in June to replace the drive unit for the door vacuum feature to work (soft close). I know there was some room on that price (always is) as you can see by itooz's post above. I haven't repaired it yet since I'm concentrating on more important issues right now. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread to see how it turns out for you. Good luck!
Scott
