Default TPMS and software update

Hi. New the site. Got a 2007 S8 with 60k miles about a month ago. Have been doing alot of reading on the site. Just did an MMI/AMI update to 4610 to add the ipod. Everything worked fine except lost my TPMS. Not the on/off control people on the site talk about but my TPMS keeps coming on and the screen shows that it is not reading any of the tires. any ideas?

Thanks

It is not clear if that happened after update or it was so before. Probably your sensors batteries are dead. You need new sensors. Four at least, or five if you want to see spare tire pressure. You can buy them reasonably priced here

Besides what mishear said, I guess it's possible you reset the system, in which case it needs 10-30 minutes of drive time. With marginal batteries (they go after about 6 years), it may be struggling. When mine died, they first gave errors when it was cold/freezing, so with time or better weather it may be back for a while. With a 2007, they are ready to be refreshed basically anyway.

They were working when I got them. But I live in Minnesota and had a very cold winter. My guess with the cold the batteries just got zapped. I had to have the main batter on trickle charger of the battery would not start the car.

One good thing I found a way to turn of the sensors even after the update caused me to lose that function. I put in a new TPMS module, the 4e0 907 273 and it gave me the option to turn off the TPMS. So I just turned them off for now.

Thanks

You need 433 MHz.

How much was that new module?
