Default Switched fuse for dash cam...

I know I saw a thread on here about this, but I cannot find it. Is there anywhere (not sensitive) that I can tap into and pull .25-.5A for a dash camera. It powers its self on when voltage is applied. I would prefer to use a tap a fuse, but I have not been successful in finding a good fuse to tap from.

Same as radar detector basically, and thus posted on many times. Did mine ages ago so I no longer remember. But should be in archives if you just search for radar detector installs.

Got it. Fuse #1 on the driver's side (Garage Opener). Thanks!

Found this thread yet all the fuses seems with 12v.

Does anyone know if there's a 5V fuse so that I can connect to my dash camera?

There is no 5v supply in the car. You will have to buy a 12v to USB charger and modify it.

If you meant 5 amp fuse, well that is something else again.

Fuse #20 on the passenger side (upper LH corner of the fuse box) is also 12v switched. I tapped onto it and added a small transformer in there to get the 5v source I needed. It might be easier, depending on where the dash cam will be, to run the wiring from that side of the car.

If the camera is 5 volts then the current draw will be low. Just leave it powered up all the time.
