Default A8 2004 Airbag light on - repair kit installed, 5K0998582

Airbag light on. Was diagnosed by dealer that passenger seat needs repair kit installed, 5K0998582. A few short wires

Question: Anyone has done this and can help me to locate where the wires go? Do I need to open up the passenger seat in the back, site ???

Default so I need to open the back of the seat? Is it in the lower area?

We already spent the time and did you the courtesy of providing good info there. Me included.

And to be clear, you are on the WRONG track here with the opening the seat back stuff. Use the down arrow and catch back up.

I am sorry - I fail to see where the the location it to install these wires. I cannot see where you helping referring with my thread, I do not see the answer. I like to know where the wires go, I cannot see where they should go. please help with more detail.

Before you use those wires find the yellow harness under the seat and clean/spray the contacts. Those wires are for hard wiring instead of a harness. Once you do that you can't disconnect it in case that you have to remove your seat.

Thank you - I did clean etc the yellow yellow harness cable under the seat. Light still on - does it need to be reset by shop to see if that worked, or could it go off if its fixed?

As I already said: you need to clear the code with VCDS. It won't go off by itself.

Yes, you will have to clear the codes with VCDS or any scan tool than can access your ABS data.
