After a couple thousand miles, I am still happy with the Yoko Advan A/S. We have had snow, snizzle, and freezing rain and these tires seem to perform fairly well. The only slipping I have felt thus far is on some ice, which is to be expected unless you want to run studs. No obvious signs of premature wear yet.

Hankooks have been great on every car I've had. V12's, nobles, I'll never go back to Michelin after my wallet and seat of the pants felt.. Good tires

Though the thread is older, I thought I'd weigh in on this for those still in the hunt for some good tires. I had put a set of Michelin S3s on my '08 A6 (19") and loved them. So then I put a set on my '08 A8 (20") and now that I am 1/2 way through the warrantied mileage, I am noticing a marked decline in wet-weather performance on the A8. It may be the larger footprint additional water to move out of the way, but some hydroplaning is present and inability to push it to the limit on the highway cloverleaf is noticeable.
May look at the Yoko's on next round. (Being in Houston, I'm not as concerned about snow as I am wet traction and mileage.)
