In the event someone says something to me about what I drive, I let them know it is eleven years old and has 230,000 miles on the clock. I also drive a '01 VW Beetle. Also, when I am heading to the ghetto and have to park there, I keep the A8 in my eyesight or I take the bug.

So, there is this super-clean, 1-owner 2007 S8 with 78k miles I am interested in - I testdrove today. It has premium package, leather appointment upgrade, 4-zone climate control;( no B&O sound system). Carfax indicates all scheduled servicing done at Audi dealership. (Brake fluid flushed/changed, Cup holder replaced, Battery replaced, Rear brake pads replaced, Interior trim repaired at 71,xxx miles). Other than the VCDS-reported faults below (perhaps intermittent and voltage related?), everything else seems OK. Do you guys think this is a good deal at $30k? I am thinking the absence of B&O sound system (which I don't really care for) should bring the price down a bit. Thanks in advance.

First three faulty codes are real. Electric footwell heaters are often dead, as well the trunk lid motor. I am not sure about the heaters but trunk lid motor has to be replaced (~$460).

Thanks mishar. Quite interesting - I take it that is the motor that allows the trunk to open when you hit the button (either by driver's door or key fob)? It opened and closed at the different times I tested it. Weird.

Footwell heaters...
Agreed they seem to show on many a scan.
As part of my car clean up to get 100% code free, I did mine. First one side, then the other coded with the same intermittent failures. I cleared the codes literally 10 or 20 times over a year or so, checked the connector at one point before I bought the parts just to be sure. They are pricy--hundreds for each one--but very easy to change out. Just move respective front seat forward and the relevant air vent is right there. The heater unit is built into some ducting and sits just below. A little simple screwdriver work and a connector and you are done in 10 minutes.
Objectively, the units aren't critical and are really just supplementary to the conventional underfloor ducting arriving from the heater panels up front; part of Piech's HVAC air flow fanaticism built into various D3 design elements.

For a 1-owner 95+ K miles S8 that has a couple issues come up at PPI - done by Audi dealership - ( inoperable front parking sensor, worn/torn UCA bushings, broken sunroof guides, leaky nozzle at headlight washer pump and rear brakes at less than 50%), any insights on potential cost to fix? I am trying to determine if it's worth the hassle or just keep looking. Thanks.

I like to buy and enjoy the car instead of worrying about fixing it...
regardless how much I paid for it. To my experience , I've had many Audis so far, if things broke, it's misused and I don't like cars that are misused (abused). Again, to me, they're walking wounded, even you fixed, they're never be the same, IMO.
Cheers and good luck,
Louis

Louis, I do appreciate your insights.... I guess the true issue-free, ultra-clean used Audi is quite the unicorn, though a few do pop-up every now and then.

Mine does this -- we just give it a bit of a "manual" assist (up or down). If the car is terrific otherwise, seems like a great deal. No B&O on ours -- the Bose is just fine. The extended leather package is nifty and in keeping with the nature of the car.
