Default Warranty company is trying to deny my suspension issue, do I have a dog in this fight

I have a $3k extended warranty which was bought through Audi. It's supposed to be as comprehensive as any extended warranty you can buy. I have been having issues with my suspension (driver side front being slammed in the mornings). It goes back up to regular height after starting the car and driving but I figured I might as well put the warranty to use. Well of course they want to send an adjuster to come out and now they don't want to cover it b/c they say struts aren't covered. Is the strut the issue, I figured it's in the compressor or one of the electrical components running the system?

Any advice on how I can try and get this covered?

Most likely it is a strut issue, but if you keep driving her like that it will soon become a compressor issue too.

Been there done that. Same thing with mine back in October they don't cover struts those are regular maint items. But like Mishar said if you don't get the strut sorted out it will kill the compressor they will cover the compressor but not if it's because of a leaky strut.

My favorite saying is appropriate here; Insurance COmpaNies are your friend, until something goes wrong.

i had the same issue last winter. It was a leaking strut! i changed one and then the other one went. so if you change it do both. the struts are pricey about 1800 a piece. but MISHAR is right this can lead to a bad compressor if you keep driving like that. ask them to check the thin air tubes maybe it just has a leak if like a squirrel bite it that's a cheap fix. im not sure abut the warranty rules i never had one.

I think the Audi warranty is supposed to cover the air suspension, but not necessarily the shock portion. If it's an air leak, they should cover it, if it's a worn shock (bouncy ride) they won't. ...of course they screwed me over with control arms. It specifically stated they were coverd, BUT they don't cover wear items. Bushings are meant to wear. ...it really comes down to the service adviser and how good he is at playing the game and how much he wants to fight for you.

Assuming I'm going to have to replace the strut where would be the most economical place to buy them? I'm not paying dealer prices that's certain!!

Arnott and Rebuild Master Tech seem to be the best prices for rebuilt units. You can send yours in, or pay a core charge up front, refunded when you return the old units. New ones are available from Europe. See the Air Suspension Shop on ebay

Don't replace one that is not leaking. There is no rule justifying that.
