Where does this sensor go?
Hoping someone recognizes this sensor. Had the covers off and found this hanging loose next to the cabin air filter. Where Is it supposed to go?
Any help would be appreciated.
I think it is a temp sensor, according to google. Number in it 1J0973702

In my D3, it is plugged (from bottom upwards) into a plastic protrusion next to right side of the air filter. You have to remove the filter cover shown in the top left in your photo.
I think it is barely visible in your photo, just under the aluminium cross piece and left of the yellow fluid tank cap.

Aye, chihuahua! That's a lot of dust! I had a rental for 6 months in Bahrain, never popped the hood, but the interior got fine dirt all over the place, even with the windows never down. I guess it shouldn't be a surprise Riyadh isn't any better.
