Well it's partially my fault with the battery problem so everything seems to be alright. Looking to trade?? LOL. Somebody has to make me a crazy too good to be true offer for me to sell mine since it's rare. I just have to drive it more.

I've just came back from a 5 week vacation and she started just like she was running yesterday. I have a few months old battery, the cheapest one I found. I believe your problem is that you didn't fully charge that new battery. They come charged from a factory but loose much of it sitting on a shelf. Unfortunately it can be bad too, but there is warranty for that.
By the way, there is no battery that can power A8 radio (and the rest of bells and whistles working in the background) for any longer time (may be an hour) and stay charged.

When I do a longer garage repair or VAG COM cycle w/ ignition on but not started,
I shut off the HVAC, kill the auto lights if I have them on, turn off the DRL's (though mine are the lower power W12 factory early LED's), turn off seat ventilation (or heating) if on, disable radio AND close the screen. I think the stereo in general and then the screen itself are big power sucks, plus the lighting if on of course. That always gets me well over an hour w/ no warning stuff. I get the warning more with various of that stuff still on if I am doing a long diagnostic cycle. Lots of door opening and closing that keeps resetting the interior lighting timer and the exterior comfort lighting stuff are two more, again defeatable for a longer session.

I was watching tv in the car for 45 minutes waiting for family shopping...
then I remembered this problem and it scared me. Started the car up and everything is still fine... It's still original battery since I couldn't find any battery receipt or records from the first owner.
Cheers,

Wow you're still on the original battery?? Wow that's crazy. Plus you drive your car everyday so that makes a huge difference. I drive mine occasionally so I can let it sit for close to a week and the battery meter is down to 1 bar but it still starts up but then it goes to sleep after a few days or so.
