vaugely remember a post years ago on the matter ,but I can not find same. Do the modules go bad or what ? My MMI version is 4140.

I have problems with XM's comedy channels. No other channels fade out intermittently. I might try another receiver/tuner one day.

Early on mine did the fade stuff. Dealer swapped out under original warranty. Can also be antenna (or amplifiers) or even weak battery perhaps, but most likely the radio unit. Units vary by both year and XM or Sirius as you may know. XM vs. Sirius no longer matters it seems--though I had the old XM lifetime subscription that is long gone offer wise.

I had the same issue and swapped the module on mine. Sirius to XM or vice versa, I can check. That solved the problem and was over 3 years ago.
