12v Power sockets
Hello all,
I have just took ownership of a A8 3.0 2014 UK.
Now, I seem to have a 230v euro type socket in the rear of the centre console, which I need to change for the 12v types. I have found them on eBay in Germany but does anyone have instruction on removal/fitting these?

The hard part will be removing the controllers for mmi and hvac. It's necessary to access some hidden screws. Everything else is easy enough, but you have to be quite careful not to damage any of the delicate trim pieces. They can crack, and the piano trim shows deformation very easily. I can't at the moment, but I'll see if I can dig up some more helpful information.

Just to follow up on this, I took to dealers to get a cost for them to swap these units over, told seats have to come out and it's 4 hr job at £120 per hour, fak that....

It seems they lied to you, so you know. The piece you bought looks like it needs to come apart a bit more, given I see screw holes on your replacement piece. I looked up the instructions. Check your inbox, I'll PM them to you shortly. Let me know if they work for you.

Hi Jack88 and moose73,
Could any of you share with me the instructions of removal/fitting? I have a 12V type and the light bulb on one of the 3 outlets seems to have fallen (the ring around the outlet is not lit and I can hear a sound of the bulb rolling around when driving). I am more bothered about the sound and would like to remove the assembly and fix the light back in its place.
Moose, is it possible to reach the light bulb and fix it back in case I am able to take the assembly out?
Many thanks.

Thanks moose for your reply. I still did not attempt to remove it and maybe after all will not if I have to remove 2 seats and the centre console ! Specially that I am not sure if I will be able to fix the light bulb back once removed !
