Just purchased a used 2011. Manual has been ordered. I cannot identify an icon which appears on the top of the cluster, to the left of the music track, that is a symbol of a gas pump and has a number representing miles to its right. I cannot figure this one out. Sure it's obvious. Thought it was miles remaining, but mine does not reconcile.

It is miles that can be traveled on remaining fuel in tank.

I feel a bit foolish. I thought it was miles left, but had doubts because of the high number. I am evidently getting far better gas mileage than I anticipated. Thanks.

Your will be surprised at your gas mileage especially on road trips. The 8 speed transmission with the engine will give you better than 30 mpg.

Yep.... mine always shows 600+ after a fill up and easily does 30 mpg.

Welcome to the club! I just bought an '11 in August. Be aware that as we're the start of the "flood" of new second-hand A8 owners as the 2011's start to come off lease and depreciation stabilizes, there's been some "growing pains" for the group.

As for the mileage, I was pleasantly surprised as well. I drove about 900 miles from the dealer and was absolutely stupefied at how this big car just sips gasoline on the interstate and highway.
