Dealer informed me today that Audi has stopped production for 2015 SWB A8's. So if I wanted one, I'd have to pick from current and planned inventory or locate - or order a 2016. She suspected that by May or so they'd be able to order a 2016. Anyone hear of this?

Not surprising that 2015 production is phasing out about now. Based on past history, preliminary 2016 order guides without pricing should be released in late April or sometime in May, with ordering starting shortly thereafter. Pricing probably out in early June, with first 2016s arriving at U.S. ports by August. Time really does fly...Feels like I was just ordering my 2015 (last July).

I just heard the same thing when I went to order my S8 last week. They said they had to grab an allocation from another dealer in order to place the order so I would get a 2015 model. With the S8, they said they expect order guides in May/June with Oct/Nov delivery. The 2016 model is going to see a HP increase from 520 to 600, but no other changes as far as they new (except a likely price increase).

My '14 S8 is on a 2 year lease that is up at the end of July so I am exploring my options. I really have enjoyed the car so I am considering a '16 model--my dealer says that they cannot order them now but expects to be able to do so later this month for August or September delivery so I would have to extend my lease 1 or 2 months. The other cars on my short list are the Jaguar XJR and Mercedes S Coupe, but I understand that the S Coupe has a long wait time for special order so it may not be a possibility (it sure is a looker though).
