2017 S8 "Plus"
Saw this on Motor Authority...2017 Audi S8 Plus Revealed With 605 Horsepower
605hp...not sure where you'd use all those horses, other than on the German autobahn, but NICE!

Saw this on Yahoo today too. Can't figure out from either article if it is U.S. bound, or they are just talking about European sales.
Look at R8 Plus and Competition though for cues. Common Audi play near end of a model run. Do some tweak or model varient, most commonly power bump, to get a few more sales in. Only problem is it's now pretty evident across a varety of Audis in last 10+ years, the power more or less tends to end up in the next gen. one a year or two later, but will all the new model bells and whistles. They have already signaled separately power will be up on seemingly all the D5 U.S. bound motors.
Frankly, if they wanted to sell a whole bunch more A8's/S8's, D4 or D5, they would get the V8 TDI's here. Market is there for the taking if one of the German uber crowd wakes up.
Yes, S8+ will make a very nice ride. Even more so used when price slides in predictable 12-24 months as D5 approaches, is announced/shown and then intro's.

Due around November in the UK I''ve been reliably informed. I've asked to have a go, but as the dealers here are very unlikely to spec order one, it'll be down to Audi UK to show the cars off :-)

Meanwhile, looking forward to trying the new tech in the Q7 after seeing several at the dealers yesterday. It's way way way different inside. Maybe a few too many buttons, but hopefully they'll trim that back a bit for the D5. The revised 3.0 TDI is a dream though, the guys are easily getting just under 50mpg UK on their daily run (~41mpg US).
Imagine that in the D5 .... more so the SQ7 engine (4.0 V8 TDI e-turbo). Only about a year to go I guess before we see leaked images.
