30.1 mpg!!!
Just drove from Toronto to Ft Lauderdale in my new A8L ... Averaged 30.1 mpg with high test gas. I think that's better than my former S-400 hybrid!
It was a great drive down interstate 75...stayed 3 nites on the road..no storms, so I thread the needle between storms. Arrived today to 78 degrees and sun. Loved all the driver assist features of this car.
Here's my view on live webcam:

Just spent the weekend at our cabin in the Shenandoah Valley; on the trip over the mountain to Lost City, WV hit a full-fledged blizzard complete with 50-60 mph winds! The A8L performed admirably with only one really intense moment on a severe downgrade when I hit an ice patch entering a 45 degree curve. Even Quattro was of no help on ice but was able to go into a controlled slide and use the road banking to complete the turn. Otherwise no slipping or sliding. Did not check the gas mileage on this trip! 😀

These A8 3.0T cars astonish me with the fuel economy they can achieve for such a large car. I have the 2014 model of your car Pwrshift, and I too routinely get 30 mpg or sometimes slightly better on open highway driving and easily over 20 mpg in city driving. Mine is a bit of a garage queen as I have an older Cadillac I use as a winter beater to save my A8L paint from salt and stone chips on wintery Pennsylvania roads, so I have yet to experience what Quattro is capable of on bad roads in my A8. I only purchased it last Spring. I doubt I'll ever be able to go back to any car other than an A8 again.

Just got back from a trip from Toonto to Fort Lauderdale over a five week period...highway 75 for much of the trip. Averaged 30 mpg. Was great to see how cheap gas was (compared to Canada) ... Lowest I saw was $1.99 a gallon...a little more for the high test I had to get. Nice to see variety of prices at the pumps of different stations in the same area...that wouldn't happen in Canada.
Getting home it was a shock to see the rip off fixed price rates of $1.11 per litre...isn't that about $5 a gallon??
Car road beautifully there and back. Only concern might be a squawk I hear going over sleeping policemen...will have it checked soon. Leaving 29 degrees C temps for o degrees a bit of a shock. I do think the 2015 truck is bigger than the previous year...we had a lot of room.

On a recent trip, coming back from Virginia I got 30.7mpg, according to the computer. This wasn't even close to an economy run, with the car seeing the limiter more than once and the A/C blowing. Simply astounding that a naturally aspirated V8 in a 4500lb car can do such a thing.
