Well, I was 25 when I bought my A8L. Buy the car if that's what you like, forget demographics. I had an A6 for a loaner from the dealer last week when I was having brake work done and it was a dismal transition. The A8 is a car that you wear as much as you drive it, and after you've gotten used to it, not much else feels quite right.

Typical publications that they enjoy include the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, The Economist and Barron's

It's okay to be different though. I bought my nearly fully loaded 2011 A8L when I was 21 and yeah some people jokingly asked if I was a drug dealer but it was in jest and didn't change anything.
I'm 27 and just purchased my 2011 A8L.. Not sure if I'd say I identify with your description of the highly affluent A8L owner but as a Union Ironworker there's nothing better than hopping in it and driving home after a hard days work.

I'm 40, and am planning on getting my first A8 later this year. For whatever reason, the A8 feels less old farty (no offense to any elder folks out there) to me than the S550 and 7 series BMW. Nothing wrong with having impeccable taste at a younger age!

Agree with your comment about A8 feeling less like an "old man" car. I am 40 and just got my A8 4.0T NWB. Previous cars included XF-R, C63 and 550i. Enjoy the space and tech in the A8 with kids. Plus, can outrun most cars on road when needed.

More ironic is the fact that you drive home in an ALUMINUM car

44 in the S8 felt perfect. The A8 is a bit less sporty, but way more hip than the other large sedans. The new 7 series will likely still lose to the old A8 in head to head tests.

Was 30 when I placed the order on the S8

Every relatively expensive car has older customers due to the obvious reason that youngsters can't usually afford a six-figure vehicle.

37 or so when I got my first one. 43 when I got the second.

Took a year off in the middle with a 6-series convertible while I absolutely hated.

I'll bet the M5 was awesome, though.
