need front license plate holder for 2011 A 8
registering my car today and don't have any means to secure the front license plate to the grill
Is there a relatively cheap item (autozone etc?) I can get (until the dealer I bot it from ships the missing front filler plate to me from Houston) ??
The grill doesn't seem to be set up for a front plate
Rather not have to buy it at the "stealer"
thanks Dave

$180.79 here but I doubt you'd find something aftermarket that would work well.
I'd just put the plate on the dash until the holder arrives.
They don't look like they'd accept one, but they actually clip on and use 3 screws.
The theory being that a filler is not necessary if no plate holder is required.
This is what the Euro holder looks like to give you an idea:

I had my car in for service and there was a work order under the seat in the loaner car indicating the were installing a special order front license plate bracket on a 2014 S8. Wondering if there is another bracket available and what it might look like. I don't like the look of the factory one at all.

See my post on 'Front License Plate Laws' on the second page. I live near Dallas TX. Very useful comments and some product suggestions.
My personal option is to ignore the front plate. I was pulled over the other day for exceeding the speed limit by 6 mph and the policeman completely ignored the missing front plate. I rather suspect he wanted to look at the car as I just received a 'warning'.
Enjoy your car!
