Default Alternate sizes for 255-45/19

Has anyone tried a different tire size than the OE size (19 in wheels)?
Which size have you used and what comments do you have if any. Thanks...

PCC, check your owner's manual for a complete listing of wheels/tires available for your car. That will quickly guide you to alterate sizes, if available.

I recently went with 275-40/19. Very close overall diameter and no issues whatsoever. I think it fits the wheel better as well with little more protection for the wheel.

Assuming that rims are 19x8.5 those tires are too wide for them. I agree with everything you said and I would do the same, but it is not by the book.

Original Felge 4h0601025g

OEM wheels are 19 x 9.0, so tires are not too wide.

Thanks, I have been around, but the car has been trouble free. So as the saying goes, no news is good news. My car now has ~40K miles, so I had the tires replaced. Brakes are next on the list. I wish I could find something with little less brake dust, but we shall see...

Was that ever an OEM wheel for the D4? I've never seen one on one.
