Default Any way to delete the old phone directory?

Here is the problem. I changed my phone recently and it's working properly with MMI. However when I went to program voice command for my common numbers (spouse, children, etc) it says that similar sounding entries are already in the system. They are from my old phone for which MMI apparently still has the directory in memory somehow. However it's not accessible for dialing or voice command and there does not seem to be any way to delete this old directory so I can reprogram voice command to use the same name in my current directory. Am I missing something here? Is there a way to delete the old phone directory either from MMI menu or even using VAGCOM?

Go to Directory, then press Settings, then Delete Directory.

There should be a selection to Delete Public Contacts and Delete Name Tags as well.

That deletes my current directory but not the directory from my old phone which I no longer have. There's got to be someway to reset the system to clear the memory.

Maybe Telephone > Settings > Delete All Entries

Figured it out. It's under CAR>MMI Setup>Factory Default>Directory

Very important (at least in the S7): after clicking /highlighting Directory, scroll to the bottom and click on reset. Then yes.

The MMI will shut down, completely and the display will retract into the dash. When it turns itself on again, you'll have 5000 entries left and the old phones are gone - finally.

Thanks everyone.
