Anyone ever mod their lower rear valence for the newer tips?

It's all I could find. You'd have to saw off the current tips and put the different ones on. Personally, I don't much like them. They look too poorly cobbled together.

True. I'll probably just go standard newer model elongated tips.

I just sent you two PMs with the measurements. If you go with OEM tips, then you will probably have to replace the resonators the tips connect to---the 4.0 (and W12 most likely) resonator has two connection stems for each OEM tip, but your car's resonators have only one connector stem. You will likely have to go with an aftermarket tip set, where the tips are joined together with a single resonator connection...unless you replace both resonators, that is.

after carefully looking at the valences on ebay, which I assume are similar to OEM in theory, the chrome elongated tips are actually connected to the bumper itself, not the exhaust. I could conceivably just cut the tips off the exhaust pipes and do nothing, unless there would be an issue with the exhaust "smoke" itself not being able to exit the bumper area and causing damage...

I would worry about residue buildup behind the bumper. I wouldn't want an exhaust system on a daily driver exiting beneath the car.

I was thinking that too or if it's too hot it could melt the wiring that's attached to the lower valence. It looks like the interior tips that get installed to the exhaust pipe are off center to allow the new tips to line up with the valence openings

I've been looking for a totaled D4 for a while now, there are some things I would like to cannibalize, like the lower rear valence. That might be a viable option if you can find one being parted out.

ok, my local dealership can get me all the parts listed earlier for $1000.50 plus tax (I could probably bargain him down that extra $.50 if I wear a short skirt but I'm a dude so...). And thinking about the "interior" tip issue and the exhaust itself/heat - since I'm going to have to get this all painted and installed by someone, I bet it's pretty cheap to just have someone bend me a pipe from my muffler to the new tip. Doesn't have to be pretty since you don't see it...
