Default Applied one of those nano-based wheel coatings yesterday...

Took advantage of the balmy 36-degree temp yesterday morning and washed the A8L's wheels to prep them for an application of the Detailers Pro-Series nano-technology wheel coating I purchased a while ago.

The whole process to thoroughly wash the wheels and apply the product on the wheels' exterior and inner rims took my 63+ year old body a little over two hours...Oye, I'm really out of shape and paying for it today!!! :^) Wheels look good, with a relatively smooth to the touch feel---however, not as smooth as I've gotten in the past with a good wheel polish.

I'll post a follow-up in a week regarding how effective this stuff was/is in repelling brake dust, and how it impacts ease of wheel cleaning.

Thanks Uber. Supposed to last 1 year. I'm thinking of giving Pinnacle's Black Lable Diamond Paint coating a shot on the car's body paint. It's supposed to last 3-years.

You could also run it to Phil at Detailer's Domain and give your body a rest! I only wish I was up north as his work looks amazing!!!!

Thanks for the expensive post Derf. After reading your post I had to get some Detailers Pro series products. I actually bought the products for the paint, glass and wheels! I'll just call it a stocking stuffer for myself.

HAHAHAHA!!! You're so right...it was an "expensive" post. I did the same thing later that day---except I ordered the Pinnacle Black Label line:

Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Surface Coat
Pinnacle Black Label Surface Cleansing
Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Coating Detail Spray
Pinnacle Black Label Synergy carbuba/nano ceramic wax
Lake Country Coating Applicators
Gold Wax Finger Pockets

My rationalization was exactly the same: an early Christmas gift to myself 😊

Let us know how it works out.

It's been a week and approximately 200 miles since I applied the Detailers Pro nano-tech ceramic coating to the wheels. Had the car out in rain and muck this morning...appears like the coating did a pretty good job of repelling a lot of the brake dust accumulation---especially on the front wheels that get it the worst. Pic below of the front passenger side wheel taken this morning. Before it was coated, it would have been much darker/blacker.

Since I'm on vacation, I plan to hose down the wheels and wash the car tomorrow, so we'll see how well water pressure alone sheds the dirt off the wheels. I'll also begin the process of applying the Pinnacle Black Lable 8 Fifty nano-ceramic products that were just delivered: cleansing polish, Diamond ceramic surface coating, and their Synergy carnuba & ceramic particle wax. If I survive that work-out, I'll apply the Diamond Coating Detailer and report back to y'all 😜
