APR Tune - Any Dealer Issues?
Just got 2013 A8L 4.0T and want to get an APR tune.
Was wondering if anyone with the APR Tune on their A8 had any issues with their dealer when taking the car in for service or maintenance? I had no issues in the past with TT, A4, S6, but that was a few years back...

I spoke with a SA here in Houston and he said to me that if I got APR he would ask i remove it before he services my car. He then went on to say that on his car he has GIAC and they cannot detect it. Not sure how valid this is, perhaps he is getting paid to say that lol. But he also does not have A8L I think he has an s5 or s6, but I'm not positive.

It's long been my 'understanding' that APR and Stasis are the only Audi approved tuners.
Yet I find very little on their websites addressing this, so is it urban legend ?
Every dealer seems to be a case by case for many things, so it doesn't surprise me there would be different answers on this too.
I'd definitely make a dealer aware of it - who knows what an SVM update would do to the ECU.
Let us know what you find out.

According to some Audi has been getting pretty strict on modifications since there have been more tuners on the market. Go to the S4 board and there are a number of people who are getting flagged TD1 and getting denied warranty work. There aren't any approved tuners anymore and it depends on the dealer as to how friendly they are to mods. This is all coming from an S4 perspective
