Autoweek 2015 Audi S8 review
Loved the car and drivetrain in general, and uniformly panned (bludgeoned actually) the lane assist :

Deep in they pick up on the copper twill interior tweak. An S8 only option apparently that I noticed a while back on the Audi USA configurator. Article also mentions a sport exhaust option.

I'd say a nice set of reviews---very consistent with one another, and with other trade reviews I've seen. Yeah, I'm not a fan of the lane keep feature; used the lane departure warning once when I first got my D4 over 3 years ago and never did again. Can only imagine what fighting the steering wheel when it's trying to self-correct must feel like.

I like the lane departure warning, especially on long boring drives (think I-95 in Florida).
It's the 'active' part that I'm not keen on.
This technology almost killed a friend and his wife in a rental by over-compensating and putting them into head-on traffic.
Granted it was a GM, so.......

Fighting with an overly aggressive self-correcting steering wheel is another matter entirely. I will hopefully get to try both elements of the this feature this coming weekend---hopefully!!!
