I took delivery last month on a 2014 A8L 4.0.
Its moonlight blue exterior with the nougat brown interior. Its pretty much loaded with B&O and night vision.

My problem is the brakes. It has a really soft pedal and I feel like I have to Fred Flintstone it to stop. I don't know if they can be bled to make the pedal firmer. Or is it just a heavy car that needs time to stop.
I think I may be spoiled coming from a BMW X5M, and Porsche Cayenne previously which had tremendous brakes.

Are the S8 brakes different? Is there an aftermarket upgrade?

The S8 brakes are larger. I would check with your service department if they are not performing to your satisfaction. Did they perform better on your test drive?

X5M to S8 lol, almost the same as what I did! Enjoy your car! It will be hard matching the brakes of that beast lol.

I'd have your dealer check them out. It doesn't sound right to me. My A8L 3.0 brakes are almost more grabby and aggressive than I'd like them to be.

Just got the car back from 5000 mile service. I told them to bleed the brakes to add more pedal pressure. They said they are fine and cant do anything. This car has a terrible feeling brake pedal.
Anyone know of a big brake kit or the S8 brakes?
